One Community Campaign Explained
What is One Community LG?
One Community LG is a parent-led fundraising effort that transforms a basic public school education into an enriching educational experience for every child, on every campus, through a single annual donation. This contribution to OCLG supports programs like STEAM, Music, Art, PE, Spanish, Student Wellness and Library—as well as essential supplies and the cherished Home & School Club events and programs that make each of our schools so special.
Parent leaders from all 5 Home & School Clubs and the Los Gatos Education Foundation may help coordinate, but it works because we all pitch in—and it's our kids who all benefit.

Why do we need One Community LG?
In Los Gatos, about 23% of our property taxes cover the basics to keep LGUSD schools running, (core classroom teachers and campus operations). One Community LG funds 11 additional staff members across LGUSD who provide essential enrichment in elementary schools and elective choices at Fisher. A large portion of Home & School Club (H&SC) budgets are also funded by OCLG. Here are some specifics:
District-wide programs:STEAM, Art, Music, Spanish, & Physical Education (PE) Teachers and Supplies
School Counselors (Student Wellness)
Librarian Media Specialists
Innovation Grants to LGUSD Teachers
School-specific needs funded by each school's Home & School Club (H&SC):
Community-building events
Classroom supplies and materials
Staff Appreciation
Fisher Clubs & Noontime Sports

In 2026, the per-student cost in LGUSD was approximately $22,000, including the $1,600 per student that is needed to fully fund programs that taxes and state/federal dollars do not cover.
