Social Media Volunteer – Los Gatos Education Foundation (LGEF)
Location: Remote
Time Commitment: 1 hour or less per week (flexible)

LGEF is a nonprofit education foundation dedicated to enriching the educational experience for all students in Los Gatos Unified School District. We fund essential programs in arts, STEAM, wellness, and more—programs not fully supported by public funding.
Role Summary
We’re seeking a creative, reliable Social Media Volunteer to help manage and grow our presence on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about education, marketing, or community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
● Create, schedule, and post content across social media platforms
● Share program updates, fundraising campaigns, and event promotions
● Design simple graphics (using Canva or similar tools)
● Engage with followers (comments, shares, DMs)
● Collaborate with Board/Committee for campaign calendars
● Track basic engagement metrics (reach, likes, shares, etc.)
Ideal Candidate
● Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
● Familiarity with Google Drive
● Strong written communication and visual storytelling skills
● Experience with Canva, Meta Business Suite, or similar tools
● Interest in public education and community impact
● Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
● Bonus: basic analytics or social strategy experience

Culture and Community Nights Event Coordinator (Volunteer Role)

Location: Hybrid (some in-person coordination at schools)
Time Commitment: ~3-5 hours/month during planning periods (July-Aug); with onsite attendance at 4 STEAM Nights for 3 hours each (late Aug/early Sept.)
Term: One school year (with option to renew)

Role Summary
The Culture and Community Nights Event Coordinator will lead the planning and execution of engaging, hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) nights at all five schools supported by Los Gatos Education Foundation. This person will serve as the central point of coordination—working closely with STEAM TOSAs (Teachers on Special Assignment), school staff, and parent volunteers to deliver fun, educational experiences that bring families together.
Key Responsibilities
● Coordinate and schedule STEAM nights for each school (5 total)
● Liaise with STEAM TOSAs to align on content, logistics, and needs
● Organize volunteer support at each site (check-in, stations, setup/cleanup)
● Source or assist with activity materials and vendor coordination, if needed
● Track and share attendance, photos, and feedback post-event
● Attend events (when possible) to support smooth execution
Ideal Candidate
● Strong organizational and communication skills
● Able to manage timelines and juggle multiple school schedules
● Enjoys working with educators and families
● Team-oriented, with a proactive approach
● Bonus: background or interest in STEAM education
