You may choose to support your school through a gift of stock or securities. When you transfer stock that increases in value over the years, you do not pay capital gains tax. There is an extra bonus – if you give a gift of stock or mutual fund shares before the end of the year, you might enjoy a deduction on this year’s tax return.

How to make a stock transfer:
- If you are transferring stock from a Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., instruct your broker to transfer your stock to Los Gatos Education Foundation Brokerage Account Number 35312967.
- If you are transferring stock from a non-Charles Schwab account, you will need to complete a DTC Transfer Request or Donate to Charity Form found on your non-Charles Schwab account website with the following information:
